As you stand in awe of the waterfall, take notice of Fall Creek disappearing underground and reemerging downstream. Behind the falls, you can also admire an impressive rock house amphitheater, formed over time by the forces of nature.

It's no wonder that Ozone Falls was chosen as a filming location for the movie "Jungle Book," with its picturesque surroundings and easy accessibility. The area also features open glades that support native grasses and prairie plants, while the upland vegetation is dominated by oaks and Virginia pine.

But the real hidden gem lies beneath the waterfall. A remnant old growth forest community is home to a variety of plant species, including eastern hemlock, white pine, magnolia, and more. The shrub layer is also filled with vibrant rosebay rhododendron.

As you explore the area, you'll come across many large boulders and peaceful pools along the stream. Follow the rugged ¾-mile trail that begins near the bluff, leading you down into the gorge and past a small rock house known as Gamblers Den. The trail follows Fall Creek until it meets with Renfro Creek, where hikers will backtrack to return to the trailhead.
