In the mid-20s, the building in front of the Martí Park began to be built. The Santo Tomás home school was inaugurated on the upper floor on October 1, 1929 and the San Lorenzo arts and crafts school about three years later.
The place would forever occupy a place in the country's history during the revolutionary uprising of September 5, 1957.
